What sets a country apart is technology innovation. The president has encouraged tech leaders in Silicon Valley to “keep going with the incredible innovation” and told executives such as Amazon's Jeff Bezos, Apple's Tim Cook, and Tesla's Elon Musk that he would make it "a lot easier" to trade across borders.
The new Office of American Innovation brings together the “best ideas from government, the private sector, and other thought leaders.” The plans are to revamp government workers’ training and provide broadband Internet service to every US citizen. The goal is to modernize the government’s approach to technology, and they are discussing plans with tech leaders such as Apple CEO Tim Cook and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Previously more than 140 tech leaders from Silicon Valley signed a letter stating Trump "would be a disaster for innovation." What do you think about where America needs to focus for technology innovation? How do you feel about the current government approach?
